Copal Cavalier is charged with the care of her newborn niece after her twin sister suddenly dies of a strange magical illness. Fearing she will succumb to the same fate, Copal travels to Red Hill, a mysterious hidden city to find the baby’s father. This isn’t as simple a task as it would seem and she is forced to navigate the city’s tumultuous political landscape and uncover the secrets of the city itself.
